Indian consumers have long been lamenting about not being able to use Google’s Chromecast, which is yet to officially hit the market here. Chromecast allows someone to turn their HDMI port-equipped TV into a Smart TV, thereby allowing them to stream content from their tablet, smartphone or chrome device to their dongle.
A source close to The Techno Triad has revealed that Google Chromecast is now going to be available for purchase in India. The unique device that helps mirror everything from your tablet and smartphone to your TV is arriving on 9th December i.e. tomorrow. Google Chromecast is the perfect device for those who enjoy the luxuries of big screen viewing.
Sources also revealed that the news will be announced at the Google Online Shopping Festival and the device will be available exclusively on Snapdeal. The company is also building a development platform for Chromecast users for easy viewing on smartphones. Google has partnered with telecommunication giant Airtel to provide customers cost-effective data packs for the same.
A LITTLE ABOUT CHROMECAST
What is Chromecast?
Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Simply use an Android phone, tablet, iPhone®, iPad®, Mac or Windows laptop, or Chromebook to cast your favorite entertainment and apps right to the big screen.
Everything you love, now on your TV
Chromecast works with a growing number of apps, including Netflix, HBO GO, YouTube, WatchESPN & Pandora. Find your favorite apps and discover more at chromecast.com/apps.
For everything else, you can mirror what you see on the small screen to the big screen. If you’re on your laptop, you can cast any website in Chrome; and from your Android phone or tablet, you can mirror your screen to the TV.
A whole new way to TV
With Chromecast, your phone is your personalized remote control. Use the apps you know and love on your phone to search and browse, play, pause, rewind, control the volume and even make playlists. While casting, you’re free to use your phone for other things.
Your friends and family can cast to the TV using their own phone or tablet, too – with no additional set-up required. Everyone can sit back and enjoy together on the biggest screen in the home. When you’re not casting, you can turn your TV screen into a beautiful backdrop filled with artwork, personal photos, satellite imagery and more.
