After huge success of Yu Yureka and Yu Yuphoria, Micromax’s subsidiary Yu Televentures, is all set to launch its flagship killer Yu Yutopia or Yu5050. Company has confirmed that they will launch the phone in October. It is also said that the phone will come with a powerful hardware to give stiff challenge to the recently launched OnePlus 2. All Yu smartphones have been well-received by Indian consumers. With Yutopia, the company is aiming to take a share of the budget flagship category, where handsets such as the OnePlus 2, the Xiaomi Mi4i and others have strong foothold.

Recently, Rahul Sharma, Founder and CEO of Yu Televentures, has started teasing a “beast” of a phone on Twitter, though he isn’t interested in revealing why, exactly, it gets that classification.

The Yutopia will have the MSM8994 architecture i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor which is clocked at 1.55 GHz possibly to avoid the overheating issues with 810. It will  feature a 5.2-inch display, 21-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front-facing camera. There has been some confusion whether there will be two different variants — one with 3GB of RAM along with a 1080p display, and another with 4GB of RAM and a 2K display. It will be made available in three colours – white, black and gold.

Details regarding price would be known only after the phone has been officially launched although its clear that Given the massive specifications of the device the price will be higher than all the previous Yu devices and quite possibly higher than all three Yureka, Yuphoria, and Yureka Plus combined. Yutopia will be India’s first snapdragon 810 smartphone.
